tesa® 74515 – 125 µm LSE Transparent Transfer Tape
High-Performance Transfer Tape for Low Surface Energy (LSE) Substrates
Product Overview
tesa® 74515 is a transparent, double-sided transfer tape engineered for high-performance bonding on low surface
energy (LSE) materials such as PP, PE and EPDM – without the need for primer.
It features a 125 µm thick tackified acrylic adhesive with no carrier backing, providing excellent initial tack, strong shear
strength and reliable long-term adhesion. The conformable adhesive layer adapts to slightly rough or flexible surfaces,
ensuring consistent wet-out, good stress distribution and clean, invisible bonds in demanding industrial and precision
mounting applications.
Key Features & Benefits
- Primerless bonding to LSE plastics and coated surfaces (PP, PE, EPDM, etc.).
- High bonding power at just 125 µm total thickness.
- Carrier-free, thick adhesive layer that adapts to surface irregularities and flexible substrates.
- Excellent initial tack and shear strength for secure, long-term mounting.
- Reliable performance under humidity, temperature cycling and short-term heat up to 200 °C.
- Ideal for applications requiring clean aesthetics and invisible bonding lines.
Typical Applications
- Versatile bonding solution for a wide range of demanding industrial applications.
- Primerless adhesion to LSE substrates such as PP, PE and EPDM.
- Long-term mounting on hard-to-bond materials (e.g. gaskets, molded parts, textured plastics).
- Industrial bonding of foams, films and flexible materials.
- Design and display applications requiring invisible, seamless bonding.

Processing & Application Guidance
- Slitting: Recommended material temperature 2–10 °C to reduce adhesive oozing and improve cut quality.
- Die-cutting: Non-stick coated tools are recommended to minimise adhesive build-up.
- Laminating: Use metal and rubber rollers with moderate pressure for uniform bonding.
- Application technique: Apply high pressure (e.g. tape roller) to ensure full surface contact.
- Recommended application temperature: approx. 10–40 °C for both tape and substrates.
Industry Specifications
- Low VOC: Tested according to VDA 278 – does not contain substances restricted by drafted GB regulations (China).
- UL 969: Certification pending.
Storage & Shelf Life
- Store in original packaging, away from light and heat sources.
- Rolls: store horizontally; log rolls: store upright.
- Follow recommended climate conditions according to ISO 554.
- Recondition refrigerated tapes before use.
- After opening, use tape as soon as practical.
- Shelf life: up to 12 months from delivery when stored under proper conditions.
